Fogging issues!

Updated: Dec 17, 2020

Anyone who wears glasses will know that the steaming up of lenses when wearing a face mask can be a real nuisance.

Face masks direct exhaled air upwards where it gets into contact with the lenses and causes condensation. So what’s the answer to this problem?

One obvious solution is, when possible, to wear a face visor instead. The clear SheffShield visor is anti-fog and designed to allow for glasses to be worn underneath if needed.

But for times when a mask is required, we recommend wearing a face shield on top for added full face protection - including the eyes. To help reduce fogging from face masks some opticians recommend holding down your mask with surgical tape at the bridge of your nose - this stops as much breath escaping upwards as possible.
